|
This proposal is to invite Rajahmundry.net members, RJY yahoo
groups members, Alumni of Government Junior college, Respected organizations
and individuals of Rajahmundry and surroundings and every one else that is
concerned about providing basic hygienic conditions to the students in Public
institutions.
On January 1st a few of the students from 1983-85 batch visited Government
Junior college on their 20 year reunion in Rajahmundry. We were given a tour of
the current conditions by the current Principal Mr. Gouse.

To the dismay of us we found the premier
institution of Rajahmundry in dilapidated condition and without the basic
hygienic conditions. Mr. Gouse requested the alumni and others to get involved
to help with the current conditions.
During Pushkarams a new set of toilets were built by destroying most of the
existing ones by the government. Right now they are in unusable condition and
ready to collapse completely any time. There are only 4 toilets total remaining
for boys and girls combined (picture enclosed) for the college that has a
capacity of 1400+ students out of which 600+ are girls. The main water tank
(also pictured) is ready to crumble and is not in a condition to be used. There
is a small water tank donated by local business but it is being used by all for
water and washing purposes. The tank is not covered and is a hazard for
spreading Malaria.
Mr. Gouse pointed out that there is ground available to build new toilets and
the project will be around Rs.1,00,000 to complete. |
This proposal
is to raise the required Rs. 1,00,000 solicit help of Rotary Club River city of
Rajahmundry to help facilitate the execution. Mr. Srikanth agreed to be the
coordinator for this project from the Rotary Club.
